Superb late 19th/early 20th century large Chinese silk embroidered fan:

Superb late 19th/early 20th century large Chinese silk embroidered fan decorated with finely detailed floral sprays, butterflies and a red and gold bird. Finely carved, stained and gilded sticks and guards. There is some minor lifting to a few parts of the embroidery and one tiny part of the embroidery is missing (the right hand sprig of the small branch above the fifth stick from the right hand side). The silk backing has also lifted slightly from a few of the sticks and the silk tassle has losses. Other than these minor flaws the fan is in wonderful condition. Measures approximately 65cm when open.
