A large Thai Ban Chiang style painted pottery jar with superbly executed complex patterns all over in red.I cannot be certain if this is a genuine ancient ceramic dating to c. 300BC to 200AD or (more likely) a later copy or a pastiche of ancient and modern parts. I leave it to the buyer to judge. Even if it is not ancient it is a large imposing and very decorative pot. The jar appears to be intact with no damage. Height 26cms.Very heavy. Weighs 3.10kg.
