Up for sale is a fantastic, large, signed picture of all 9 Supreme Court Justices during the Burger court as it existed between 1975 and 1981. All nine justices have signed in various colored ink at bottom. Present in this image are Warren Burger, Thurgood Marshall, Lewis Powell, William Rehnquist, John Paul Stevens, Potter Stewart, Harry Blackmun, William Brennan and Byron White. This court existed between 1975 and 1981 and I can not date the image any more specifically.
The justices have signed a large photograph print (i.e. photograph that is printed on paper where the boarder is included around the image; sort of like a poster). the image itself measures approximately 12 x 18. Including the frame the item is 18 x 22. This signed piece has beenprofessionallyframed.
Overall it appears to be in generally nice condition.Signaturesare crisp and there is no browning, foxing or other apparent damage. Below each signature there are, in faint pencil, a line and the justice\'s name in block print. This was done prior to the signing (ink from signatures goes over lines and names in places) and likely done to prompt the justices to sign in an area close to where they appear in the photograph.
A fantastic pieceguaranteedauthentic. Provenance detail given to purchaser but it comes from the downsizing estate of a former clerk to Justice Thurgood Marshall.
