Symbiote ‘Venom’ Rig From The Production Of Spider-Man 3.

Frontline Design Inc. who made the props for Spider-Man 3 created this very sophisticated head and torso built beneath the earlier ‘smooth skin’ venom suit that was in development.

Mounted on steel platform and wheels measuring 37.5 inches long x 28 inches wide and 83 inches tall.

The accompanying rig platform measures 48 inches x 17.5 inches x 33.5 inches and has four cable-actuated rigs connected to the torso to control various antagonistic movements including warping plastic prosthetics on the chest to mimic pectoral muscle movement.

In addition there are four radio controllers responsible for actuating the r/c servos installed for moving the njers, jaw and other elements.

Levers mounted on each arm are responsible for wrist movement.

All of the smooth skin of the symbiote has been removed except for one half of the top of the head.

A state of the art example of animatronic wizardry in move making.

Mechanics and electronics were working but we’ve not physically used it since we’ve owned it.

We bought almost all the props and costumes from Spider-Man 3 from Shownee Smith at Frontline. This particular item cost over $100,000 to make. Enclosed is a picture of the animatronic in Frontline Designs workshop. Please note that the black box next to it is not included.

Included is a COA from him detailing some of the items we purchased. Parts have been blurred for privacy however the buyer will get a clear copy.
