This is definitely the most ornate and beautiful art nouveau purse frame I’ve ever seen. It is marked sterling with maker’s mark for the renowned William Kerr and sterling with the number 12. It has a push button clasp with two angels on it even! Incredible repousse workmanship with cherubs and a gothic sort of lion like North wind face! Measures 6 inches by 4 inches and weighs 117 grams and it is in excellent overall condition. I think it probably had a leather purse/bag originally because of the way the holes are studded. Everything works, all intact (except the purse body), closes perfectly. AMAZING find for the purse collector or art nouveau enthusiast, circa 1910.
