DETAILS: Hard to find original pinback button issued for the draft card burning organized by Michael Ferber and held on October 16, 1967. Ferber, a prominent leader of the Boston peace movement and radical Harvard student activist, organized the demonstration. Prior to the card burning Ferber, along with Dr Benjamin Spock and 3 other speakers, gave speeches on mobilizing to end the draft.Shortly thereafter, all five speakers were arrested by the FBI and charged with conspiracy. They became known as The Boston 5 and they became a cause celebre among the peace movement nationally.Measures 1 1/4\" in diameter.
