Spectrachrome's Giclee prints bridge the past to the present through the beautiful art of places, people and ideas.
All our prints are Giclee Prints. "Giclee prints" simply means the photos are printed on premium archival photo paper (Hannamuele or Red River) using OEM archival pigment inks (they will never fade) and are printed on a large format professional printer for the very best prints. Sizes are photographic standard, making them easy to mat and frame. At home or work, they will look stunning. They also make wonderful birthday, house-warming, and holiday gifts.
Hours are spent cleaning each picture using high-end software. This includes removing dust, scratches and enhancing the original details to get the best possible print.
Ordering is easy, just pick your print, choose the size, and put it in your cart. Shipping is free! I ship quickly and safely - your print will arrive in a rigid mail tube while 8x10's will ship in a sturdy envelope.
About Spectrachrome Prints
All of Spectrachrome's photos are old and many are nearly 120 years old!In most cases, the print's clarity will not match today's standards either because of the development process, the lens, the camera, or photographer's limitations and storage conditions, enlarging the prints from small originals, or a combination of any one of these. Please take a moment to look at the close-up photos, which will give you a sense of clarity. Remember also, the close-up you're looking at will not be that big when you get the photo. If you're concerned, please contact me and I can give you an idea how it would look at a large size.Today's technology is incredible, we are able to bring these amazing antique photos back, clean them and enlarge them and what technology can't fix should be appreciated as the charm and authenticity of photos from that period.
Also, you may notice some strange blurring of specific items in a photo. A long time ago, the lens had to remain open to let enough light in - sometime for up to a minute (that's why people didn't smile). For example, if the photo was taken outside with a little wind, you may notice a blurry Flag or if people were walking in the background, you'll see "ghosts" from the past.
Your satisfaction is important -I want you to love your prints! For any reason you are not happy, please contact me.
