1970 Ted Kennedy Stanley Cup Autograph Letter Lot w/ Signed First Day Issue! This letter was written and autographed by Ted Kennedy, dated August 7, 1970. In the letter, he refers to the first day issue postcard he sent to Mr. Harris, but mentioned he was unable to send a photo as he ran out of photos. He also mentioned that his greatest satisfaction was being on a world championship (Stanley cup) team. See below for information about Mr. Harris and his collection I am selling. The first day issue and index card that came with the authenticated letter (see Roger Harris story below) are both guaranteed to be authentic (the letter references the other items Ted included). The HOF postcard and vintage photo (copy) are also included for a total of 4 pieces.About The Roger Harris CollectionUp for sale in my store are pieces of NHL memorabilia from a collection never seen before. Contacted by a colleague who knew the owner Roger Harris, I was asked to have the honor of spreading the joys of this collection into the hockey fan world. Over 700 pieces were compiled by Mr. Harris, a Rutland, VT native, who had written and mailed several thousand letters during the 1950s, 60s and 70s to the greatest hockey players of the past. Mr. Harris requested three things: an autograph, a photo and to share a greatest thrill. Many HOF\'s are included: Chuck rayner, Eddie Giacomin, William Jennings, Bob Clarke, Marcel Dionne, Ted Kennedy, Guy LaPointe, Emile Butch Bouchard, Brad Park,Bob Clarke, Jean Ratelle, Rod Gilbert, Jean Beliveau, Bill Gadsby, Norm Ullman, Red Kelly, Alex Delvecchio, Glenn Anderson, Johnny Bucyk, Bernie Geoffrion (Boom Boom), Lanny McDonald, Adam Oates, Henri Richard, Denis Savard, Serge Savard, Steve Shutt, Guy LaFleur, Stan Mikita, Bryan Trottier, Pierre Pilote, Frank Mahovlich, Allan Stanley, Ted Lindsay, Andy Barthgate, Sid Abel, Harry Howell, Eddie Giacomin, Tony Esposito, Gerry Cheevers, Tiny Thompson, Jean Ratelle, Stan Mikita, Emile Butch Bouchard, Milt Schmidt, Syl Apps and Marcel Dionne - to name only a few. Some of the greater items, including handwritten letters, rare photos and part of over 200 mint note card signatures will be authenticated, including a letter written by Ken Dryden himself as he talks about his greatest thrill: playing in a certain Stanley Cup. This will extend, along with my guarantee of the authenticity of these items, additional evidence of the collection compiled by a man nostalgic for hockey greats. Some items will be sold as a package, for instance, with Syl Apps, who wrote a letter, autographed a card and sent a photo. As more items are authenticated by a reputable third party, after being examined, sorted and preserved by me, you will see more listings. Starting first will be listed a collection of 1974 NHL Hockey Linnett Prints.I offer combined shipping: if you purchase or are going to purchase multiple items, please wait for an adjusted invoice before paying for any item.
