The Beatles – Vinyl Carry Case for 7” Records 1964 PYX Made in England:

The Beatles – Vinyl Carry Case for 7” Records, 1964. Made in England. This is a good example of the scarce Vinyl Carry Case for Singles / 45’s / 7” records that features The Beatles, that was made in England in 1964. The front has a great colour photo of The Beatles that is still perfectly sealed in all the way round behind a clear plastic cover. The picture has on it the name / emblem of PYX Productions and the words Made in England, Vinyl, stamped into the plastic at the bottom of the image.

The Case is one of those that opens like a book and it contains 16 clear plastic wallets to store the records on. Which means that it can comfortably house 32 with each of them being visible. I can see that it has been used a bit as the wallets are a bit grubby – purely through handling. But luckily, that is the only sign that it has been used as it has been very well looked after. The spine panel and the outside back panel are made of white vinyl and the inside panels are bright red. They are all in very good clean condition with no splitting and very little rubbing. The metal studs that keep the wallets in place are all clean (with no rusting or tarnishing) and even better, there is no splitting at the holes where the black plastic retractable handles come out.

The only other slight / potential fault is that one of the handles has a crack. It is not broken and the crack is only apparent from one side if you care to go looking for it. But assuming that it is simply going to be displayed, not used roughly, it is fine. I have read that the case was made by a company called Seagull Enterprises, and I assume that is the reason for the raised Seagull emblem on each of the handles. In all, the Record Case scores around 89/100 and is way, way above average.
