The WOODS and WILD THINGS I REMEMBER by Archibald Rutledge 1st Ed Hardcover

This is a tan cloth hardcover, 1970, 1st edition book by Archibald Rutledge, born in 1883, American poet laureate and educator. This is a compilation of stories about growing up in McClellanville, South Carolina and his encounters with the fish and wildlife that inhabit that coastal village and nearby plantation countryside.

Book condition, near fine, clean, tight copy, with a previous owner\'s name on the front flyleaf; dust jacket has some edge wear, and a little chippy in the front. Page edges have some light foxing.
Illustrated with amazing prints of wildlife by Sallie Middleton.
