Based on Shimizu Reiko\'s manga Himitsu - Top Secret, the intriguing thriller is set in the late 21st century when advanced MRI technology allows the police to retrieve memories from the brains of even the dead. Ikuta Toma (Grasshopper) and Okada Masaki (Space Brothers) team up as the aloof genius chief and hot-headed rookie investigator of Department 9, a special forensics team that makes use of the brain scanner for criminal investigation. Delving into the minds and memories of victims and criminals, they struggle to crack unsolved cases while also navigating the grave ethical implications and psychological fallout of their actions.

With Department 9 in danger of being shut down, the team takes on their possibly final case: a death row prisoner convicted of killing his family. They go deep into his mind to find the root of murder, but getting out may not be so easy. Kikkawa Koji (Rurouni Kenshin), Matsuzaka Tori (Mozu The Movie), Kuriyama Chiaki (Library Wars), Lily Franky (Like Father, Like Son), Shiina Kippei (Assassination Classroom) and Omori Nao (Parasyte) also co-star in the mind-bending mystery.

Synopsis :

Set in the late 21st century, an MRI scanner is introduced at the National Research Institute of Police Science\'s 9th Forensics Laboratory. The machine is able to scan the memories from even the deceased. As ethical questions arise over the machine\'s use, the 9th Forensics Laboratory members, including rookie Ikko Aoki and Chief Tsuyoshi Maki, struggle to solve cases.
