This new-in-box, fourth Treasury Historical Assocationannual ornament depicts the first Mint of the United States in Philadelphia, complete with its façade inscription \"Ye Olde Mint, 1792,\" as based on early twentieth century photographs and a painting of the building by Edwin Lamazure, as it appeared in the early 1800s. The ornament measures approximately 2-5/8 inches in diameter. It comes with hanging ribbon, educational enclosure card and gift/presentation box.

The first United States Mint facility was authorized by the Congress to be constructed in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, then the Nation\'s Capital. This was the first Federal building the Federal Government constructed under the Constitution. The site chosen for the Mint was deeded to the United States on July 18, 1792.
