Male: Height: 11. Width: 3. Depth: 3 inches.

Description:
Pair of carved twin Ere Ibeji Yoruba figures from Nigeria. Carved wood and blue pigment, with attached personal ornaments like glass bead necklaces, belt and bracelet. The works originates from the estate of Petrus Dam Mikkelsen (1896 ) A Danish missionary stationed in Nigeria from 1921 to 1951. We have some other works from the same collection. ( please see our other sales) Rare pieces and a collectors dream. A certificate of authenticity will be included with this work.

Petrus Dam Mikkelsen ( Born 1896 )
Danish Protestant missionary born in 1896. Stationed in Nigeria from 1921 to 1951. During his time in Africa, he lived in Pella, located in Adamawa State, Nigeria. He worked closely with the people of Kilba tribe.

Condition:
In good condition. The Figures has a worn patina, small cracks and scratches due to their age and use.
