A Mod. 1905 bayonet with original [not rewelded] 16 inch blade together with an original Mod 1910 canvas scabbard. Manufactured by Springfield Armory in 1906. While the Mod. 1905 will fit a Garand, this bayonet is most appropriate on a Springfield 1903 or 03A1. The walnut stocks do not appear to be replacements. The canvas scabbard has a wood liner [see photo] and is missing a metal rim around the top. The scabbard is Mod. 1910. The leather tip of the scabbard is marked \"AK09\" the date \"1910\" and \"__?H.S.\" This is not a reproduction scabbard. This bayonet and scabbard were manufactured prior to WW I, during the period of the U.S. engagement with the Mora Rebellion [Muslim] in the Philippines [1899-1913] and the \"Border\" War [Mexican American] [1910-1919]. Easily a bayonet used during the U.S. introduction to WW I in 1917.
