THIS LOT CONTAINSA COPY OF THE SCARCE \'WHITE PLAINS\'SOUVENIR SHEET ISSUED IN 1926 BY THE USA ,SCOTT #630,INVERY FINE,UNUSEDCONDITION.

The souvenir sheet was issued to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Battle of White Plains, an important event in the Revolutionary War, and was also first day issued in White Plains, New York --hence thereafter known as the \'White Plains\' souvenir sheet. We can recall the old White Plains post office that had twofaded,but genuine, sheets on a wall display into the 1970\'s.

This souvenir sheet is from the lowerright position of the plate and has a normal very small diagonalbend onthe lower edge. Of the 25 stampsin the sheet, only twostamps are hinged (upper left, with remnant), and one stampa very minor gum blemish.The selvege has small hinge remnants in the upper right, and,lower right and left. There are no perforation separations or folds (very unusual), and the overall condition is very fine.As can be seen in the photo, the centering of individual stamps varies from fine to extremely fine. The2014 Scott Classic catalog value for the souvenir sheet is $350.00 hinged, and $600.00never hinged.
