ULTRA RARE Vintage 1958 MARX Whistling Space Top Set in the Original Box! From the Sputnik era comes this 3-piece Whistling Space Top set made of a combination of lithographed steel and tin and comes complete with the original box with insert. Marx came out with this set to capitalize on the first successful US satellite which was launched 4 months after Soviet Russia\'s Sputnik. The image printed on the box cover insured that this theme was not overlooked. Lithoed on the toys are the words \"Liberty Bell\" and \"Freedom\". The set is in LN condition and the box has some very slight shelfwear and 2 pieces of the cardboard litho that has come off, likely from tape. The tops measure 2\" in diameter and the box measures 6-1/2\" x 4-1/4\" x 2\". An amazing set to add to your collection and rare to come across! (Inventory code Space1)
