A wonderfully unusual pair of antique Victorian English mourning earrings. Beautifully made from solid 9 carat gold (tests thereabouts), they have hand engraved decoration, gold wires and gold orb drops, and superbly finely woven hair hemispheres with hair backs.They date from around1870/80 and are inexcellent, fully wearablecondition throughout with no loss or damage, they weigh2.8grams together andhave a total drop of around 1 ½inches, the central bosses being just over half an inch in diameter. The final photo shows it with a US penny (1 cent) coinfor scale, which measures19mm/ ¾ of an inchdiameter.
