Offered is a very nice box. We cannot determine if it is European or Spanish Colonial or what. Definitely early, we are pretty certain it would date to the 18th century. It is hallmarked underneath with the assay zigzag and another hallmark. Lid has the zigzag as well. If you have any idea of its origin, we would love to know! Made with a pierced and hand hammered design. Measures 2.25\" tall x 3 3/8\" widest x 2.5\" deep. Weighs 3.24 ounces troy. Good condition for the age, one side of the \"loop\" in the design missing.
