Extremely Large, Unusual ROYAL DOULTONEnglish Decorative Ceramic/Porcelain TOBY JUG, \"GRANNY”
DESCRIPTION:Wonderful Large Size Royal Doulton Decorative Toby Jug depicting a figureidentified on the back as “GRANNY”. This was part of a large estate collection Ijust acquired. In absolutely perfect mint condition, with no wear, chips,cracks, or repairs. Beautiful detail in her face and clothes. Painting andfacial details are especially impressive.
This piece stands about 6 1/2\" high and is about 5 1/2\"x 7\" across. Handle at the back of her head appears to be a long braid of her gray hair, as shown.
On the back, formed into the pieceis \"GRANNY\".
Bottom is also marked \"GRANNY\", Doulton & Co. Ltd, Made in England”, along with other production marks.and numbers. I believe this is one of Royal Doulton\'s earlier toby jugs produced.
