Talks about Rebel Raid to the North. “...according to last account the bold invaders had been driven from the very gates of Washington and have turned their forces southward where they will probably escape with the thousands of horses cattle and wagons clothing shoes money and other property to the amount of millions besides property burned and fields of grain laid waste...” Long letter home.
