US troops deployed to Vietnam in the early 1960s in uniforms unsuited for the vicious guerrilla war awaiting them. New jungle fatigues were quickly introduced, based on the paratroop uniforms of WW2. The jungle jacket featured 4 front pockets, the top two slanted inward at a jaunty angle. This US Army USMC Marine Vietnam JUNGLE JACKET is in excellent condition, witha long loose thread to one right cuff button,a loose thread to the second from bottom front button, a small tear in the middle back, some overall wrinkling, and with some light scattered age wear evident (ALL pictured). Otherwise, the jungle jacket is in excellent shape, with no other damage to the crisp ripstop 100% cotton construction, which retains nearly 100% of the original rich, dark OD color. Most interestingly, it\'s a Size Large Long, boasts all of the original dimpled OD plastic buttons throughout, and is dated 1969 on the original nomenclature tag inside.
