Women also served in the US Army during WW2, as nurses, ferry pilots, and in other capacities to free men for combat. They were universally respected by their male counterparts, and were issued their own version of the M-43 field uniform. This included a wool field jacket liner that was often worn by itself for its comfort and trim good looks.This US Army WW2 WAC WOMEN\'S M-43 WOOL FIELD JACKET LINER is in good condition, with some light scattered spot mothing to the knit collar and the right knit cuff, a bit of spot mothing at the upper middle and left front, some dark spot mothing at the lower middle front, two small spots of whitish soiling at the lower inner left sleeve, heavy fraying to the size tag at the inside neck, a small area of dark soiling at the lower right front lining, and with some scattered age wear evident (ALL pictured). Otherwise, the liner is in fine shape, with no other damage to the tough OD wool construction. Most interestingly, it boasts the classic khaki knit collar and cuffs, sports all of the original flat rimmed OD plastic buttons down the front and at the shoulder straps, and is dated \"June 6, 1945\" on the original nomenclature tag inside the lower right front pocket.
