A set Iron Hardware for an early model McClellan Saddle, 1859 or civil war period civilian production saddle. THere is a matched pair of stirrup strap buckles/center bar buckles that accomodate a 1 and 3/8\" stirrup strap, several iron rings for the pommel and cantle, and what looks to be a Girth Buckle. All were original old period hardware that came out of an old surplus store in Cuba, Alabama, and that originally came from Francis Bannerman Co. They have been re-japanned black several years ago to use in a saddle restoration project that never happened.. This stuff is ideal for building new saddles or for replacing missing parts on original saddles. There are also a couple of new pieces of hardware that are reproduction casts or forgings of originals---see as noted. The originals are from a large lot of Cavalry and Artillery saddle and harness hardware, buckles, bits and pieces that came from Francis Bannerman Military Surplus many years ago. .
