US EARLY WW 2 F/B M-1 HELMET - USN SEA BLUE PAINT:

Early war manufactured M-1 steel pot, front edging seam, fixed bales, OD #3 web chinstraps with blackened brass hardware. The shell maker / lot code is \"27 C\" . There is 1 stress crack in the front visor edge. The shell was painted factory cork-mix OD Green inside and out, then the exterior was resprayed Navy Sea Blue, there was also a painted insignia on the front, but it was scraped off a long time ago. The liner is an original WW2 vintage high pressure type made by Firestone and has Khaki webbing, and phosphated \"A\" washers, it is missing the leather chinstrap, there is NO damage to the shell. The liner exterior is completely overpainted Smooth White (there is some on the edge of the steel shell too). SOLD AS A MILITARY COLLECTIBLE ONLY.
