US WW2 Early type M8 B.M.CO SCABBARD M-3 Trench Knife M-4 Bayonet, M-1 Carbine :

This is a US WWII and Korean War M8 Scabbard or sheath that was used with the M-3 Trench Knife and M4 Bayonet for the M-1 Carbine. This is the early pattern of M8 scabbard that is designed to slip over a belt rather than have the wire hook on the top. This is the correct format for the early M-8 scabbards. It is also pre-metal tip. Bayonet is marked US M8 and BM Co. This bayonet also retains its original or a period replacement elk hide leather tie down thong or leg thong. Bayonet is not cracked or chipped. Webbing is the earlier light OD/khaki color (not the darker OD green of later pieces). Web is solid, not rotten, no rip, tears or frays and is reasonably clean---does have a name inked out on back side. Snap is solid as well. Overall a very nice piece, showing some issue wear, but no heavy use and certainly no abuse. Would make a great upgrade for an M3 Knife or M4 Bayonet. Please email any questions before offerding.
