This is for a Vintage Named (USMC \"Bob Bowers\" ie Robert R. Bowers)early Vietnam War Era United States Marines, USMCMilitary U.S. Navy, USN Mark 2, nicknamed \"Marine Ka-Bar\" Camillus Fighting Utility Combat Knife with a black leathersheath / scabbard. The knife and scabbard are in very good condition. The knife appears to have never been re-sharpened. The knife appears to havenever been used. The knife and scabbard have minor wear due to their age and/or storage. The knife is engraved \"Bob Bowers, Eagle, Globe and Anchor / EGA insignia, Once A Marine - Always A Marine,U.S. Camillus, N.Y.\" The knife has blood grooves, grooved leather handle and a parkerized blade. The butt cap is iron. The scabbard is unmarked. The knife measures approx. 12\" total length. The blade measures approx. 7\" long. The scabbard measures approx. 13\" long.

This military item was acquired from the estate of Mrs. Ruth Ellen Bowers, wife of USMC GySgt Walter Russell Bowers.

GySgt Walter R. Bowers and wife Ruth Ellen Bowers had two sons.

Their oldest son Robert R. Bowers served in the USMCduring the late 1950\'s - 1960\'s.

Their youngest son Ronald Justin Bowers was a Sgt. U.S. (Airborne Infantry) Army during the Vietnam War, approx. 1967. Sgt. Ronald Justin Bowers, Born Sept. 21, 1943, DOD July 1, 1994.
Sgt Ronald J. Bowers is buried at the Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.
