Unique Large Gentleman\'s Pewter Tobacco Companion Chest, c. 19th Century. This large chest is an extraordinary pewter lidded box, it has two lockable hinged compartments on each end. The center of the chest has a candle holder flanked by two smaller hinged compartments. The sides of the box have a beautiful relief cast decoration with birds and flowers. This is a wonderfully unique Tobacco humidor box. The chest stands on three ball form feet. The details and workmanship are quite impressive for such a large and impressive piece. The candle holder in the center is missing some pieces. This may have had two more ball feet on the bottom at one time. There is some minor denting and scratching.
