First off, my disclaimer. I know nothing about this other than what I see. This is from my wifes aunts home, she has moved into a nursing home and I am selling this for her. I assume it belonged to her first husband who was military around WWII. The box and compass are in excellent condition for their age, how many survived with the original box and cloth cover? IT DOES WORK. ONLY BLEMISH IS THE HOUSING MAY HAVE SOME LIGHT SCUFFING AND THE BOX BOTTOM HAS A SMUDGE OF PAINT? ON IT ABOUT 3/4 \" IN DIAMETER. The flip cover has U.S.C.E. stamped on it.
