Collection of appx. 30 photographs (circa WW2) of the Duke and Duchess of Windsor touring a U.S. naval base, and a review of troops (or change of command?). Hard as I tried, I could not find anything in the photos indicating where these were taken. The Duke and/or Duchess are pictured in more than half of the photos. I presume the photographs were taken by one of the military personal assigned to the occasion, or one of the sailors, and are unpublished. The highest ranking officer I can find is a two-star admiral who appears tasked with showing the Duke and Duchess around. The Duke (formerly King Edward VIII before he abdicated to marry divorcee Wallis Simpson-- later known as the Duchess of Windsor) abdicated in 1936 and married the Duchess in 1937. During WW2 the Duke and Duchess lived in Bahamas (where he was Governor of the Bahamas). I suspect these photographs were taken around that time, perhaps during a visit to the U.S.. The pictures are in fine condition. Buyer pays $3 shipping.
