This is a gorgeous vintage, signed cuff with just beautiful turquoise in it.
***Cerrillos is one of the oldest mined turquoise. The mines in New Mexico reached their peak in the 1880\'s.***
The Cerrillos turquoise is just gorgeous in this piece! It is a beautiful Carribbean Ocean blue-greenwith brownish-green matrix. It also is polished andlooks just like a blue lagoon.It has that semi-translucency look to it that only high quality turquoise has.(Cerrillos is a harder turquoise and takes a nice polish.)
This cuff is in excellent condition and hallmarked: Jefferson James. The face of the cuff is over 2\" x 1 3/4\", the stone is 1 1/2\" x 1\". The cuff is just under 6\" and the opening is just over 1\", so the cuff is basically 7\" (this cuff could be unisex). This cuff doesn\'t have the very wide band, that is nice because there is some flexibility. (It isalways a good idea to support the setting and stonewith one hand against the band while doing any opening or closing of the cuff with the other hand.)
This piece is very solid (about 48G) and itis a very nice design with leaves on the band matching the leaf on the setting. Very beautiful! I don\'t think any collector oranyone justlooking for that beautiful turquoise piece would be disappointed.I have seen lots of turquoise called Cerrillos that doesn\'t look anywhere near as beautiful as the piece in this cuff.
This avery solid, quality piece that will last a lifetime. (And its value will only increase with time.)
