I was awarded this sword in 1993 as a midshipmen and used itmy senior year in college and then only on very rare occasion during my 6 yearsas an officer. Very minimal wear and of thehighest quality. Do not be fooled bycheaper swords with carbon steel blades and a low-quality guard.
Stainless-steel blade with one groove on each side. 20mmblade width and 4mm thickness. 34” length.39” total sword length.
Acid-etched with the USN pattern, deep enough to feel itwith a fingernail
Ceremonial blade to be used in drills, ceremonies, anddisplays - not sharpened for use as aweapon
Guard cast brass with \"USN\", 24-carat gold-plated
Ivory-colored plastic grip with imitation shark skin surface
Ornate gold-plated wire around the grip
