AMERICAN SOCIETY MEDAL...VINTAGE 1920s-30S...in SOLID 18KT GOLD
DAUGHTERS OF THE BARONS OF RUNNEMEDE

This women\'s society was established in 1921 and requires direct descent from the Barons involved with the Magna Carta. See medal no. 7 in Bishop & Elliott\'s \"American Society Medals\".
Named on reverse to \"Eddie B. Anderson Middleton\" with the low membership number \"74\", likely issued in the 1920s or perhaps the 1930s. Made of solid gold with brick-red enamel; mounted on a correct new watered ribbon.
Dimensions: 39mm high x 34mm wide. Weight: 18.9 grams without the ribbon. Condition: a few minor enamel chips, otherwise Extremely Fine. Unmarked, but most likely by Caldwell & Co., the prime maker for this society; tested at 18 KT solid gold and containing .4558 oz. of pure gold. Actual gold melt value of $588 at $1290 gold. Starting price of $699.50 includes actual gold value plus 14% and paypal fees + 2% markup, with no further reserve.

Postage is $15 including insurance for delivery within the USA. Postage always combined when multiple lots are purchased.
