NOTE: This is an early 1970\'s - 1981 GM corporate 10 bolt setup so do your research to make sure this will fit your axle/carrier housing, particularly with Oldsmobile - Canadian.
Nice set of salt flats - desert gears. Removed from a running drivetrain. 41 teeth on the ring gear, 16 teeth on the pinion =2.56 to 1 ratio. Carrier housing cast date K 26. Carrier cast reference # 410409 N GM 2. Ring gear # 3984822, pinion gear # 3984823. Mfg date stamp (74).
Fresh out of the axle housing and still dripping gear oil. This unit hooked up perfect before dissassembly and lit up a set of 15 x 10\" slicks on 8\" rims, (2600 RPM stall converter/700R4) throwing chunks of rubber everywhere, so, assembly is in good serviceable condition. Will need set up by a qualified tech to assure proper clearances. A new install kit and inspection, replacement of carrier bearings is recommended, particularly if you plan on working it hard. Includes driveshaft yoke/loops and everything else pictured. Lug nut studs in serviceable condition. No damage found on axle splines. Axles and c-clips are included and will be marked LH/RH so it can be assembled in reverse order. Front pinion bearing race not includedand will need replaced. Removed from a 1974 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am with a 400 V8 and automatic transmission. This is a factory used OEM unit, not a foreign made aftermarket assembly. Ships in two or three separate packages. Look the pictures over, what you see is what you get.
