VERY LARGE Solid Silver FRUIT DISH BOWL COMPORT 1967 Hallmark Sterling ART DECO
26 troy oz. - Superb Design - Lovely - MAPPIN & WEBB

This is a really stunning VINTAGE solid sterling silver fruit bowl or pedestal basket or bowl or comportthat was made in London, England in 1967 by the illustrious Victorian silversmiths, MAPPIN & WEBB at their Oxford Street workshops. It has a beautiful ART DECO or MODERNIST design with a substantial pierced decorated border and is raised ona lovely elegant low pierced base. It measures9 1/2\" in diameter and stands3 7/8\" high. It is VERY substantial - it weighs803.2 grams - which iswell over 25 3/4 troy oz. It is NOT engraved.

It is in very good condition for its age with less than the usual surface scratching but NO dings and NO dents and NO distortion - SUPERB. This beautiful piece is hallmarked with Mn&Wb, anchor,lion passant (sterling silver assay mark),S showing that it was hallmarked in Birmingham in 1967. I have shown the hallmark so that you can make up your own mind. This is a really super quality VINTAGEVERY LARGE piece with a fantastic design and in lovely condition afterover55 years- I\'m afraid that my pictures do not really do it justice!!!
