We have much pleasure in presenting for your consideration this magnificent and very rare Franz Iffland original work titled, \"L\'Hiver\" ~ which in French means Winter. Franz made two of these busts one called Winter and the other Summer.
Franz Iffland (1862-1935) was a famous German sculptor and painter who trained at the Berlin School of Sculptors (Berliner Bildhauerschule). He had exhibitions at the Royal Academy of Arts in 1886, 1890 and 1892 where he was represented in the Great Art Exhibition in Berlin.
FRANZ IFFLAND 1880-1920 ART NOUVEAU BUST
This is a rare artnouveau bust with wonderful artistic detail and fine casting. Wearinga winter hat andgraceful smooth flowing lines. A great presentation of this maiden, which is Iffland\'s trademark! Gold toned patina in very good condition. There is atiny spot under her bow at the back of her head that appears to have been filled and was in this condition when I obtained her twenty years ago. Hard to see but it\'s there.
I don\'t know what she is made of but probably some kind of cast metal.
