TheAUBERTIN BRAND was established in 1935

andprocuded till 1968 in Aubervillers near Paris (France).

ThisAubertin Trumpet Model was the first model

theGreat Maurice ANDRE played for a longtime.

ThisTrumpet is extremely rare because

AlfredAubertin who was working with only one workman

wasproducing instruments on order only

forthe great soloists of his time :

MauriceAndré,

RogerDelmotte, (Soloist at the Paris Opera Orchestra), etc...

*

Inthe Guy Touvron\' s book relating Maurice André\'s Biography, it is said :

\"RaymondSabarich ( Maurice André\'s Teacherat the Paris Conservatory)

askedfirmly to Maurice André to change his Aubertin Trumpet to play with a Selmer one.\"

(MrSabarich was also Tester for SELMER COMPANY).

MauriceAndré felt he had to do so to please his Teacher

butapart from him, Maurice André was still playing with his beloved Aubertin :

As heconsidered that his Trumpet was better than any Selmer one regarding the tone,

andespecially when playing the D, without need to use the thrid slide.

Andin addition, apart the fact he appreciated the perfect tone of Aubertin

heenjoyed to the quality of the preciseness in the quick notes.

Heplayed this Aubertin trumpet long enough to grave his first CBS Records

as \"Un Américain àParis\" or \"ça c\'est de la trompette\"

*

VincentBach who owed an Aubertin Trumpet bought in 1946

askedto Aubertin himself to work for him, but Albert Aubertin declined the offer.

(cfBrass Bulletin Nu 5 dated 1987)

Alfred Aubertin has built for a long time the French Besson trumpet.

Also the rare vintage Strasser,Lemaire,Marigaux trumpets.

A.Aubertin was manufacturing only one trumpet per a month!

****

This silvered Aubertin Trumpet has some superficial dings.

It has use tracks and scratches.

The bell had a crease that was removed.

The sivercoat is goneon a part of the first piston and on a part of the second slide.

The third slide ring is difficult to action becausesomewhatsticky.

The bell is beautiful engraved.

*

ThisInstrument is perfectly well playing with an excellent compression.

The pistons in a perfect shape are soft and easy to move.

In spite of a little bore thesound is full,

generous with a nice projection and a right tone.

It is a really great trumpet.

***

Supplied within its used vintage case(so-so shape)

to protect the instrument during the shipping.

+ one vintage couesnon Paris mouthpiece:

(Instead,I recommend a 1 1/2 C bach mouthpiece or similar)
