FABULOUS matched pair of large, 16\" tall,\"Susie Q\" and Bobby Q\", labeled, stuffedcloth character dolls by Madame Alexander from the 1938 comic strip. Each has their complete sewn-in label on their clothing: \"Bobby Q\"/\"Susie Q\"/Madame Alexander, New York. They each have huge, painted blue, side-glancing (googly shaped)eyes glancing to each other and matching red, white and bluefelt and cotton outfits complete with matching straw bonnets. These sweet faced, early cloth dolls each have their original yarn hair beneath their bonnets, (Susie has black hairwith scalloped bangs and longbraids and Bobby has curly brown hair). They each have comical expressions, molded pug noses, long eyelashes and rosy cheeks. They also have molded flat feet to stand and mitt-shaped hands with separate thumbs.Susie has red striped legs and Bobby has blue striped legs. She wears her red and white polka dot dress with attached white petticoat and panties and pleated organdy collar beneath her fitted blue felt jacket and Bobby wears similar blue felt jacket over his red and white polka dot shorts with attached white cotton shirt, undiesand red and white tie. Both wear their white felt spatswith three button closures over their black felt shoes. They are in very good to excellent conditionwith no fading or stains and no odors as they are from a smoke free home. Bobby has a few tiny wear spots on one leg and Susie has a small patch on the back of one hand. For reference: current, 16th Blue Book of Doll Values-Jan Foulkelists their value at $3000 on page 207.
