As you can see this is a super looking Victorian solid silver lidded pot with a pie crust rim, decorated in a distinct Art Nouveau style as pictured. There is a small period monogram in the cartouche, top centre of the lid (see photo).
It has been assayed in Birmingham during 1896 by William Comyns & Sons.
A good useful size, the pot stands 3\" tall with a base rim diameter of approximately 2.75\".
It weighs 3.37 troy ounces or 105 grams.
The lid fits correctly and will not fall off accidentally. The pot has just the usual light, faint surface scuffs and scratches that silver objects such as this always tend to attract plus a few minor dings and shallow creases under the base commensurate with age and use. It is still fully serviceable and very usable. There is a small black mark on one side externally near the seam that I have pictured and indicated from both sides so that you can make a judgement. That said, there are no actual holes or splits anywhere to report as far as I can tell.
A good polish will no doubt further enhance former glory.
