Undated but believed to date from the 1940s, in all probability from the Second World War. There are reference to wartime shortages - knitting from recycled wool because current new wool supplies were required by the Forces - an advert which refers to fact that Sylvan Flakes are now sold loose rather than in pre-war packaging etc (see photos)

Dimensions approx. 7 1/4\" x 9 1/2\" or approx. 18 cm x 24 cm

Softback booklet - 16 pages including cover - illustrated in black and white

Includes 7 patterns in total (for women and men). Includes a Fair Isle design. Also several interesting adverts. There is no pattern for the sweater shown on the back cover (it is an advert only)

VERY SCARCE

You are purchasing the original pattern booklet, not a copy

FAIR condition. Splits to top and bottom of spine (the largest at the bottom measuring approx. 2 1/2\" or 6 cm - i.e. as far up as bottom staple). Damage to top inner corner of front cover and a section missing from bottom corner/margin of back cover. Cover is scuffed (especially back cover, which is also grubby around the edges). Corner creases. Pages have a few handling marks. Some creasing/crumpling. Age discolouration. But otherwise good. Binding is tight. Internal pages are free from major stains - with no tears or annotations. Instructions are complete and legible. Please see photos

My goods come from a smoke-free home. However, I do have a dog. Although the majority of my textile items are laundered before selling – and I endeavour to keep my dog away from any items that I am selling – please be aware of this if you are acutely allergic to animals.

Although I make every effort to take accurate photographs, please be aware before offerding that, due to the limitations of digital photography and variations between computer browsers, it is impossible to reproduce colours totally accurately on computer screens. If I feel that the original colours diverge greatly from those shown I will allude to this in the description.

Postage and Packing:

Please refer to the listing description for details as to the method of delivery and charges. Items valued at more than £39 are usually sent via Special Delivery (or, if sent overseas, via the ‘International Signed For’ service) and will require a signature on receipt.

I am happy to combine postage costs on multiple purchases (providing the sales finish within 5 days of each other and providing it is safe and practicable to send the items within the same package). If you are still offerding on any of my other items, please let me know when you have finished offerding and I will send you a combined invoice. Please note however that if the combined value of the package is more than £39, Special Delivery costs (or ‘International Signed For’ costs if sending overseas) will need to be taken into consideration before calculating the combined shipping discount.

Your goods will not be despatched until your payment has cleared.

If your goods are damaged on receipt, please notify me immediately and retain the original packaging for possible inspection by Royal Mail in the event of a claim.

If your goods are lost in transit, please notify me as soon as possible. I will do my best to resolve any outstanding issues with regard to delivery – and issue a prompt refund where appropriate.

RETURNS:

I want my buyers to be happy with their purchases and I therefore offer a ‘no quibble’ returns policy in the vast majority of cases (subject to the terms and conditions stated below). There may, however, be a few instances from time to time where returns are not accepted, so please read the item description carefully.

Returns are accepted subject to the following conditions: that you notify me of your intention to return the goods within 3 days of receiving them; that the goods are returned safely to me, in the condition in which you received them (i.e. unworn/unused and with original tags still intact, if appropriate), within 7 days of receipt; and that all postage costs (outgoing and return) are paid by you. The refund is dependant on the safe receipt of the goods by me so please use appropriate packaging; you are also advised to send via Recorded Delivery or, for packages valued at more than £39, to use Special Delivery (overseas buyers: you are advised to use a trackable insured method). Please note that no refunds will be given until the initial payment has cleared (e.g. eCheques can take up to 10 days to clear).

OVERSEAS BUYERS: please contact me before offerding for international postage costs and details (if not already stated). Please note too that I only accept PAYPAL (in Sterling) as a method of payment from overseas buyers. Items valued at less than £39 will normally be sent via Airmail, with more valuable items being sent via the trackable ‘International Signed For’ service.
