VINTAGE ANRI \"SPACE\" CHESS SET IN ORIGINAL FITTED BOX. MADE IN ITALYNot a reproduction. This set dates to about 1960. The pieces of the ANRI Space chess set were designed by Arthur Elliot, an early animator at Disney Studios. Each piece represents a part of the height of the excitement over the emerging Space Age. This particular set has seen some extensive use. Most of the pieces are missing the original brown felt on the foot. Three of the pieces are missing the tiny lead weight (that would be under the felt). No chips or cracks on any of the pieces. One of the light pawns is a replacement made by the world\'s foremost chess restorer. All of that said: please review the pictures as this is an attractive chess set. Kings are about 4\" tall. The fitted box is in good and original condition missing some of the original brown felt on the base (see pictures). It opens and closes properly, and latches properly.
