Beautiful, Vintage Chalkware Bust Description and Item Information
Up for sale is this beautiful, old Chinese girl bust or figurine. Please excuse the glare in the photos. This polychrome painted, chalkware bust depicts a lovely Chinese girl. This bust measures approximately 8 inches tall; at the base, it is about 8 1/8 inches long, and 3 3/4 inches wide. Unpacked, it weighs 4 pounds 9.3 ounces. This would be a fine addition to a collection of vintage chalk busts. Identification
This vintage piece has an in mold mark on the back side with a copyright symbol, \"#5,\" and \"O.M.\" or \"D.M.\" I do not know who manufactured it, but it is in the manner of Esther Hunt, Joe Celona, or Leon Fighiera. Condition
This looks very good overall, with minor wear (edge wear and a few scattered, fleabite flakes). There is a linear metallic mark, possibly graphite, near the flowers next to her cheek (visible in Photo 4). A small chip to the front side, basal edge, was filled and colored; this was well-done, and it is now very difficult to see (area is shown in Photo 6). There is a fine, shallow craze line to the back side (visible in Photo 7). Please review the photos, and ask any questions you may have prior to offerding or buying. Terms of Sale 1. Sales Tax
Before merchandise is shipped to a California address (or picked up or delivered within California), sales tax will be collected, unless the buyer provides a properly completed and valid California resale certificate form by mail (or in person, in the case of pick up or delivery). The buyer must prepay before merchandise is released. Paypal payments over $250 will only be accepted if delivery is to an address with a confirmed status. Contact the seller in advance of offerding or buying to find out about accepted payment methods for local pick ups or deliveries. Payments must be received within three days of the end of the listing, unless prior arrangements have been made. 3. Shipping and Handling
Good packaging is included; double-boxing is not included. Framed art will not be shipped unframed. The seller typically ships on Mondays and Thursdays, unless a holiday or special circumstance precludes it. If payment is via Paypal, the merchandise will be shipped on the seller\'s next shipping day after payment clears. The seller is not responsible for the transit time once the merchandise has been accepted by the shipping carrier. Economy shipping within the U.S. includes delivery to a physical address via an economy shipping method of the seller\'s choice. At the discretion of the seller, a faster shipping method may be utilized at no additional cost to the buyer. If the buyer prefers a different shipping method other than that chosen by the seller, or if delivery is to a post office box, additional shipping and handling costs may be required. For domestic parcels, a signature will be required for delivery if the total Paypal payment for merchandise inside the parcel is greater than $250 (excluding California sales tax). If international shipping is available, this will be indicated on the "Shipping and Payments" tab. International shipping is not free for the buyer; shipping costs are not negotiable. Shipping quotes must be requested prior to all international offerding or buying. The seller will determine the international shipping method(s).
