This is a true American Vintage 1984 White Gibson Explorer with serial number 82054568. This is the setup the young James Hetfield would have played on the Master of Puppets album and tour with dual humbuckers and slim 60\'s style neck. This guitar also has the original Super Tune Vibrola (Kahler-style) tremolo and locking nut with the original bar, paperwork and setup guide. This guitar plays normally, but it hasn\'t been played for many years and is missing the high string.

This guitar is in used vintage condition and has normal wear. There are surface blemishes shown in the photos as well as a broken corner on the headstock, and missing screws (the reason for the electrical tape on the neck pickup. This guitar was built for, bought for, and really used for playing 80\'s thrash metal in the 80s. The original hair-stayed owner had wrapped some tape \"Scorpions-style\" around the lower horn which is faintly visible. The guitar has normal patina and less surface cracking than is normal for this model. There will never be another guitar that changed metal like the 80\'s explorer. This is one of the originals and it\'s time for it to get out of my closet and into the hands of someone who will tune it back up and shred.
