Up for your offerding consideration is a 55\" square piece of vintage handmade polynesian (hawaiian?) Tapa cloth I purchased at sale years ago.......painted detail on one side, backside is even more beautiful with just the soft brown and cream triangular beaten in design. Design is made of multiple triangles and squares, great detail and fine lines.
There are small damaged spots and tears in some of the edges and at some of the folds. A few edge borders are torn or ripped. It is a very old piece and these do not detract from it\'s beauty or display capability. I have tried to detail the damages here in the close up photos.
I would say this piece is in good condition and a little conservation would go a long way to preserve it for future generations......still deep colors, still supple...no bugs. From a non smoking home.
