This cute German Hans Volk doll stands 15 inches tall and is marked with the Hans Volk mark HV on the back of her head. She was sometime in the 1950\'s and is all papier mache.

From my research she is considered an Engel-Puppen Doll. Her maker Hans Völk, born in 1893 in Germany, founded a company in 1922 that specialized in punching and stamping paperboard together . His dolls were manufactured from paperboard and paper-mâché until the end of the 1950\'s when the doll materials were changed to plastic. The doll is in nice clean condition. He body is in great shape with no cracks, breaks or chips. There are a few areas with small rub marks. She has open and close blue eyes with eyelashes. They open and close freely, but it does appear that that eyelash on the right eye was reglued at one time. There is a hole in the papeir mache on her left ear that can be seen in the picture. Her hair is synthetic and is very abundant. It appears that her shoes and stocking may be original. Her pretty dress appears not to be factory. She is a strung doll with original stringing.
