RAREROYAL DUX FIGURE OF A SPANISH DANCER IN PRISTINE ORIGINAL CONDITION. MEASURES APPROXIMATELY23.75 INCHES (59.5CM) HIGH X 11 INCHES (36CM) IN WIDTH X 14 INCHES (28CM) DEEP.THIS COLORING WAS RARELY MADE BY ROYAL DUX. SHE IS NOT SHINY PORCELAIN BUT A SUBDUED GOLDEN COLOR WITH CREAMY SKIN, VERYELEGANT. SEE MARKING ON THE BOTTOM OF THE FIGURE – RAISEDROYAL DUX PINK TRIANGLE MARK. MADE IN CZECHOSLOVAKIA. Royal Dux is the more common name for the Duxer Porzellanmanufaktur, whichwas founded by E. Eichler in Dux, Bohemia (now Duchov, Czech Republic), in1860. By the turn of the century, the firm specialized in porcelain statuaryand busts of Art Nouveau-style maidens, large porcelain figures, and ornatevases with three-dimensional figures climbing on the sides. Before 1938, thecompany had over 12,000 molds for porcelain. The firm is still in business. Itis now part of Czesky Porcelan (Czech Porcelain).
