UP FOR sale is a very nice Mattel Shootin Shell cap pistol circa 1958. All original. Comes with everything pictured including bag of 6 metal cartridges and 12 plastic tips. I have seen a lot of these pistols and this is a very fine example. A lot of these Mattel cap guns actually came from the factory with small flaws and they were not built to last 50+ years. That is why if you find a really good one, try to get it because they are becoming increasingly difficult to find, especially is such wonderful condition.
This one is also in full factory working condition. Pull the trigger and the cylinder spins to its correct position every time. Strong trigger snap. I would not suggest ever pulling the trigger too many times without the shells in the chamber so as not to cause damage. They are difficultto repair as they were not made to be disassembled. As stated, most of these guns in excellent plus to mint condition are not to be found.
The box has a couple of areas with graphic loss and it does not have the practice target originally found on the back of the box. Otherwise, it has very nice, clear graphics and the original insert which holds the pistol and bag of shells is intact.
PLEASE look closely at the photos as they are obviously a large part of the description and show the overall condition of this vintage collectible. I have tried to take pictureswith minimal glare which is not easy with these guns. This pistol has notbeen exposed to smoking, around pets or any other unusual Environmental conditions.
