VINTAGE OLD PAWN NAVAJO NATIVE AMERICAN STERLING SILVER BISBEE TURQUOISE RING :
$139.99

You are viewing a very old, unique, hand-crafted c.1950/1960 OLD PAWN NAVAJO NATIVE-AMERICAN 925 STERLING SILVER BISBEE BLUE TURQUOISE STONE RING. Ring size appears to be 8.25-8.5, but go by the following measurements: The inner circumference is 57 mm, BUT as you can see, the ring is not exactly round, as it has a flat side (base of ring). It has a diameter of about 18.5 mm across. Please view all the photos as they let you know what you will receive and are the primary and integral part of the description. This beautiful ring was entirely hand-crafted, using just handheld tools (and muscles) to create the traditional and intricate designs. The beveled-set Bisbee turquoise stone measures about .67 inches (17 mm) across and about .75 inches (19 mm) high (longest point). Ring weighs over 11 grams. Did you know Bisbee turquoise is one of the most sought-after turquoise, only to be found from collectors and investors seeking a high price for their investment? It is favored mainly for its deep blue color tone and unusual \"smoky\" matrix pattern, only found from the Bisbee Mine, Arizona. Did you also know that the Bisbee Mine opened in the 50\'s as a copper mine; not a turquoise mine? And, that the large quantities of Bisbee turquoise found were \"dumped\" like rubbish! It was a good thing many employees of the mining company took home the turquoise (what could be carried and hidden in their lunch pails!). This continued until the early 70\'s, until someone figured out there was value to this beautiful blue stone and gained the rights to what remained at the mine. The Bisbee Mine has been closed since the mid-70\'s. This is just a portion of fun trivia for you (more on the internet). :)
