VINTAGE ROYAL DOULTON Tobacco MOTTO JAR &LID& QUOTE BY CHARLES KINGSLEY, #1866.This listing is for a vintage Tobacco jar with lid, marked on the bottom with logo ROYAL DOULTONENGLAND and the number 1866 is incised below. The jar has a green ribbed border band on bottom and top edges. The center is a beige color with brownfancy lettering that reads: When all things were made none was made better than Tobacco; to be a lone Man\'s Companion a Bachelor\'s Friend, ahungry Man\'s food, asadMan\'s Cordial, a wakeful Man\'s Sleep, and a chilly Man\'s Fire, There\'s no herb like it under the Canopy of heaven. Chas. Kingsley. The jar comes with its original matching lid with same ribbed design in the center and top knob. The piece is in very good condition; NO chips or cracks, inside shows use, lid is also in very good condition with minor rim nicks on bottom edge only (see photos). The piece measures approx. 6-3/4\" tall to top knob on lid with a diameter of approx. 5\". When it is packed SECURELY for shipping, it weighs3 pounds 8 ounces. (8338d)
