VINTAGE SET OF 12 EXQUISITE PULS CZECHOSLOVAKIA CABINET PLATES - CIRCA 1940Each plate measures approximately 10 3/4\" in diameter.Excellent original condition - no chips or cracks with the exception of one small chip on the underside inner rim of one of the plates - see last photo.PUL refers to Pfeiffer & Lowenstein (u being theshortened version of \'and\' in German).

Founded in 1873 by Ludwig Lowenstein in Ostrov, Czech Republic (thenSchlackenwerth, Bohemia Austria), the factory was managed by Josef Pfeiffer Jrin the 1900\'s, and was renamed Pfeiffer & Lowenstein.In 1938 the Nazis seized the factory and renamed it Porcelain FactorySchlackenwerth Josef Pfeiffer.Finally, after the war, the owners were Luise & Wilhelm Pfeiffer and Georgevon Hoffmann until it closed in 1949.
