This large wool Army issue blanket was issued to my Dad in WWII. As you can see by the add on it has \"been through a war\" . Dad was a mechanic in the motor pool for the medics. The hospital had good supplies most of the time he said and they never wasted any thing. So the add on is what was let of someone else old blanket and he used it to make his longer so his feet didn\'t stick out he say. Dad was full of stories and he loved to tell us about the guys he was with and the good and bad things, they why and why-nots of the whole thing. So as much as I hate to part with his blanket it\'s time and I\'m hoping someone will give it a good home. I think it was white at one time but is more tan now. It measures 72\" long and 55\" wide. It has been stored the last several years in the cedar chest and is in really good shape as far as damage, there are no hole, tears or stains. Just your normal old age war blanket stuff. I now have found out that the M.D. stands for Medical Department. ThanksDavid for the information!It looks like that was stamped on with some kind of paint or ink and some of it is coming off.
